Work Experience and Voice Actors

About two weeks ago I completed a tad bit of work experience for the non-profit studio Roots and Wings. I tried out Procreate Dreams for this one, and it’s a really robust piece of software for the one time price. I coloured some frames for their upcoming project and had a blast doing it. Very grateful to have been given the opportunity, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for similar volunteering positions in the meantime. You can check out Roots and Wings’ website at https://www.rootsandwings.design/

They make some wonderful stuff for some wonderful causes and it was a pleasure working with them :)

In terms of personal projects, I’m very excited to start soon on a rough animatic using the frames of the Blitz The Beast storyboards, which you can find on this site under Storyboards and Animatics. This will give me a chance to work with sound effects, music and most excitingly voice actors!

I’ve hired two very talented voice actors on Fiverr, and I’m buzzing to see their work. Hopefully I’ll have the project done in the next week or so, can’t wait to try out SFX and share it.

Storyboard Galore

On my quest to improve my portfolio, I’ve been on a storyboarding/thumbnailing craze, and I’m happy with how they’ve been progressing. Understanding staging, perspective and grids really does wonders, although I still have a long way to go. I always appreciate feedback, especially from those in the industry, and I’m planning to take some online courses to push my skills further. You can see all of my current work here, but stay tuned for more storyboards :)

Clay Blobs for Charity

A fun little interlude from portfolio building and general adulting . I’ve gotten back into the swing of modelling recently, and raised some money for mermaidsuk.org.uk by making and selling some little models to my friends. They’re based on a model seen here in the second photo, Moe. Some think Moe is unusual. Some think Moe is creepy. And I can’t argue with that, but what else was I supposed to do when I found my baby teeth and a pack of clay?
